Several months ago I was looking for a way to feel more connected to the divine/god/source and I asked a former teacher what kind of stone would help me expand. I told her that I was feeling like my connection was weak and that I thought rose quartz would help me feel more expansive. But whenever I was seeking to expand, I was feeling anxious. She very tactfully told me that I was looking in the wrong place. I was looking outside of me and upward, when the connection I longed for was inside me. I needed to go within first and expand from there-take care of me and then make the connection with the divine. And yes, rose quartz can assist with that.
Who knew? I was looking everywhere outside of me for answers. I was trying to do it right by reading the right thing, eating the right thing, speaking the right words, immersing myself in the right language. All of those things are helpful, but they are weak when they are coupled with panic and desperation.
What I needed was to be quiet, listen to my own rhythm, and trust the source within me to lead. The light is within. It’s like turning on the light in a different room and complaining that the light doesn’t work in the room you’re in. I had all the lights on in a totally different house. When I turned the light on in my own house, my eyes needed to adjust. I’m still adjusting, but what a great way of being.
